Vidhu Mathur, PhD, joined Acelot in 2022. She is currently Sr. Director, R&D. Dr. Mathur is a seasoned drug developer and scientist with over 15 years of experience specializing in neurodegeneration, inflammation, and autoimmunity. In her current role, she guides efforts in developing innovative therapies mainly for neurodegenerative diseases, overseeing both pre-clinical and clinical programs. Dr. Mathur’s expertise spans from large to small molecule development, where she has successfully guided target identification and validation, cell-free and cellular assay development, in vitro and in vivo drug activity and biomarker studies.

Prior to her role at Acelot, Dr. Mathur held roles at multiple biotech companies, where she built and led various research teams, creating streamlined workflows for drug discovery. She served as Principal Scientist at X-37 and as a Senior Scientist at Annexon Biosciences.

Dr. Mathur received her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago, postdoctoral training at Stanford University, MSc in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and BSc (Honors) in Microbiology from Delhi University.
